Summary

On June 15, 1954, in the evening near Indialantic and Vero Beach, Florida, military and civilian witnesses reported lights. One civilian saw an intense white beam, brighter than a flashlight, shining from a point about 100 yards offshore over the Atlantic. It flashed for a few seconds and rotated in cycles, then stopped when he aimed a car spotlight at it. An airman near Patrick Air Force Base saw a round, glowing object that turned white, red, green, and blue, low over the field. Another report came from near Vero Beach. The weather was overcast with showers. The Air Force conclusion was other, a searchlight, possibly a beacon or a light from an ocean vessel.
