Summary

In July 1955, a witness in Hollywood, California saw a yellowish glowing light that was sharply outlined and shaped like a large egg. The object moved very slowly and steadily toward the west before disappearing beyond some hills. The sighting lasted about 10 minutes.

The Air Force's investigation of this case was complicated by timing. The witness did not report what they had seen until 55 years after the sighting occurred. Because of how much time had passed and because only one person reported seeing the object, the Air Force determined there was insufficient data for evaluation. The case was carried in their files as "Other" (unclassified sightings that didn't fit standard categories).
