Project Blue Book Case File
Fuju, Japan, January 1955January 1955
Summary
In early 1955, near Fuju, military pilots reported a white, circular object with no clear features. They first thought it was a balloon, but it seemed to move against the wind. The observing aircraft was at 37,000 feet, and the object was estimated at 45,000 to 52,000 feet.
The sighting was filmed, but the motion picture was poor. Only a light blob appeared in a few frames, and no features could be seen.
The Air Force said there was not enough data for evaluation. The report was kept on file in the records repository under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
