Summary

In March 1955, at Farmingdale, Long Island, New York, an observer reported four dull, reddish objects in formation. He saw them with his naked eye while studying the planet Jupiter through a telescope. The objects were not seen through the telescope. They flew in a northerly direction and were watched for about ten seconds. How they disappeared was unknown.

The observer said the objects were definitely not astronomical.

The Air Force noted heavy air traffic over the area and said the objects may have been navigation lights or jet afterburners. The case was listed as a possible aircraft sighting, and no investigation was ordered.
