Summary

On November 1962, near Cora, Wyoming, a witness reported an object in the sky that was first seen after watching an aircraft. The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record system for unidentified flying object reports.

The object was estimated at about 17,000 feet. It appeared to rise and drift until it was overhead, then drifted slightly. The Air Force record marked the conclusion box for a balloon.

Investigators connected the object to a radiosonde weather balloon released from Lander, Wyoming, about 55 miles to the east. The case was evaluated as a balloon.
