Summary

On September 17, 1957, near Columbus, Ohio, a civilian saw one round white object about the size of a basketball held at arm's length. The object was seen to the northwest of the city. It was in sight for 15 to 30 minutes. The Air Force record card for Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports, lists the conclusion as probably balloon. The card says the description, how long it was seen, and the flight path point to a balloon. It notes there was no report in the file.
