Summary

On April 24, 1952, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a civilian man reported an unidentified flying object. The sighting happened about 2245 (10:45 p.m.) from the back yard of a home and lasted 5 to 10 seconds.

The witness described a dark object with a luminous glow, shaped like a swept wing with no fuselage. He estimated it was about 10 times larger than a jet fighter, with a speed near 250 miles per hour and a course of 315 degrees. It flew straight and level and disappeared behind a roof line. No sound was heard. The object was viewed through bare tree branches.

The weather showed thin broken clouds with visibility 15 miles or more, and the observer reported seeing stars at the time. The Air Force noted the object could have been a conventional aircraft except for the lack of sound, since an aircraft as large as described would normally be heard. The record card notes no conclusion and insufficient data.
