Insufficient Data

Summary

On April 1, 1957, at 9:15 a.m. in Colorado Springs, a civilian witness reported one object shaped like a parachute, about half the size of a C-47 aircraft, white or shiny silver in color. The object hovered near a C-47 plane, then moved due east and flew out of sight. The sighting lasted 45 to 60 seconds. A C-47 pilot in the area did not see the object. Conard Force East Center noted there could be balloons in the area. The Air Force evaluation was that the sighting was probably caused by a balloon or pilots of a C-47 aircraft, though contact with the aircraft had negative results. No balloons were reported in the area. The conclusion indicates insufficient data for evaluation.
