Summary
On June 21, 1961, an Air Force pilot saw an object near Bunker Hill Air Force Base, Indiana, around 3 a.m. (GMT). The pilot was watching for an F-126 making a pass on his aircraft when he noticed a high flying, high speed object. He saw it a second time about four to five minutes later.
The object looked like a star and was bluish white. It was about the size of a pea and moved extremely fast. During the first sighting it appeared at about 82 degrees elevation, passed overhead, and disappeared near 79 degrees elevation. During the second sighting it appeared directly above at about 85 degrees elevation and passed out of view. The object showed no trail or exhaust.
