Summary

On August 14, 1958, a reddish-orange object was sighted at Angel's Peak, Nevada, near Nellis Air Force Base. The object was described as round, about the size of a half dollar held at arm's length, and whitish orange in color. It came directly toward the observer, then stopped for 5 seconds and moved directly away until it disappeared. The sighting lasted 20 to 40 seconds total, with observation and disappearance occurring at 15 degrees elevation and 15 degrees azimuth. The witness was military personnel at the 865th Acorn Squadron. Weather was very clear with no winds. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
