Summary

On July 25, 1955, a military witness made an air-visual sighting over New York State. The witness reported one orange object with a dark center. The Air Force recorded the report under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The object appeared and was seen for only about two seconds. It moved straight down.

The Air Force noted that the very short duration and the lack of other data made the report hard to analyze. Officials concluded there was not enough data to evaluate the sighting.
