Summary

On July 26, 1961, near 26N 175W in the Pacific Ocean, a Navy aircraft crew reported sighting an object falling into the atmosphere with a bright, burning green and white appearance. The object descended at a 45-degree angle over approximately 2 seconds. About one hour later, a search light type phenomenon appeared 339 degrees magnetic, starting at 49 degrees above the horizon and moving to infinity. The object remained parallel at all times and also had the same behavior on radar. Two objects were involved in the sighting. Object one moved from south to north. Object two appeared stationary. No identification was either confirmed or determined. The Air Force evaluation is not specified in the available documents.
