Summary

On November 5, 1962, an observer at Westover Air Force Base, Massachusetts, reported a cigar-shaped object in the sky. The sighting was made by ground visual observation and was logged at 0435Z (Greenwich time). The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record system for unidentified flying object reports.

The object was dark orange and appeared to vibrate, with a darker aura in the center and yellow-orange edges. It then disappeared instantly.

The Air Force said the object had the characteristics of a jet aircraft using an afterburner. The case was evaluated as probably aircraft.
