Project Blue Book Case File
Watertown, Conn, September 1961September 1961
Summary
On September 29, 1961, a witness in Watertown, Connecticut, reported objects in the sky at about 7:00 p.m. local time. The witness, who was at a school, said the objects moved at extremely fast speed and were small. They were seen while the person was watching the Sun's corona. The Air Force replied by letter on October 10, 1961. The reply said it could not say what the objects were. It suggested the witness may have seen a sky effect known as a Sun Dog, possibly made worse by eye strain from the bright light. The Air Force said it had no other reports to compare. On the record card, the case was listed as insufficient data because more information could not be obtained.
