Summary

In April 1962, a witness at Thayer, Kansas, reported one object with a dull red glow that was smaller than an aircraft. The object had a tail of white dots and moved in an arc from west-northwest to east-northeast while descending. No instruments or visual aids were used. The Air Force noted the object had the characteristics of a bolide, a bright meteor, with the white dots being pieces falling from the meteor. The record card concluded the sighting was a meteor.
