Project Blue Book Case File
Clay Center, KansasJuly 1947
Summary
The OCR quality for this case file is severely degraded, making reliable content extraction impossible. Pages 3 and 4 are almost entirely illegible, and while Pages 1, 2, 5, 6, and 7 contain some readable material, the core witness testimony and investigative details are lost or garbled beyond recovery.
From the readable portions of Page 2, an Air Force analyst notes that Incident 489 occurred approximately 100 miles northwest of Kansas City, Missouri, on 5 July 1947. The analyst suggested the bright object might have been a reflection of sunlight on thin clouds or ice crystals, and noted an inconsistency in the witness's reported altitude that cast doubt on the account. No definitive conclusion appears in the surviving text.
