Project Blue Book Case File
SINGAPORE, B.C.C., September 1952September 1952
Summary
On September 5, 1952, before noon, people in two towns in Malaya reported a strange object in the sky. The Air Force learned of this from an article in the Singapore Straits Times dated September 5, 1952. In Seremban, several hundred people came out of their homes, offices, and shops to look at an object moving from west to east, which they called a flying saucer.
The newspaper reported a businessman saw a streak of smoke in an otherwise clear sky. He said it stayed in the sky for about 10 minutes before moving eastward, with no plane, drone, or sound. In nearby Batu Pahat, crowds reportedly saw a white "plate" streaking westward at great speed. The paper said it was the second time in a few days a strange object had been seen.
The file also contains a separate Office of Special Investigations report about a sighting over Albuquerque, New Mexico, on September 6, 1952. A man, his wife, and another person sitting in a patio reported a round object about the size of a basketball, red with a long red tail. It came from the southwest, passed overhead, and disappeared to the northeast. There was no sound, and it seemed to pulsate and move with a jerky motion. The witness did not estimate its speed or altitude, and that case was closed.
