Project Blue Book Case File
MOODY AFB GA, [ILLEGIBLE] 1952Circa 1952
Summary
The OCR'd text is quite garbled in places, making it difficult to read. Let me work with what I can reliably extract from the case file.
From the clearly readable portions of the OCR text, I can identify several separate incident reports from July and August 1952:
1. A primary Moody AFB case from July 23, 1952 (most prominent in the file) 2. Secondary reports from other locations and dates 3. Various witness interviews and questionnaires
The Moody AFB case appears to be the main subject. Let me write the summary based on the clearest readable sections:
On the evening of July 23, 1952, airmen stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia reported seeing unusual flying objects. Multiple witnesses filed separate intelligence reports describing the sightings, which occurred between approximately 2030 (8:30 p.m.) and 2145 (9:45 p.m.) hours.
One witness described seeing about five objects that appeared to be white in color, traveling at extremely high speeds. The objects changed direction in clockwise and counter-clockwise patterns. The witness had difficulty determining whether he actually saw five separate objects or the same object multiple times. A particularly distinctive feature was one stationary object that changed colors from blue to red throughout the sighting.
A second witness at the same location described similar white objects. One of the objects remained stationary and changed colors constantly. The witnesses noted that no sound was heard from any of the objects, and no aerodynamic features or propulsion systems could be determined.
A third witness observed an object described as a bright yellow-white light at approximately 2320 (11:20 p.m.) hours. This object appeared to approach from a northeast direction, traveled for about one minute, stopped abruptly approximately one quarter mile away at an altitude of about two hundred yards, then rose vertically at extremely high speed and disappeared.
Weather conditions at Moody AFB at the time were clear with unlimited ceiling and visibility. Approximately twelve aircraft were confirmed to be airborne in the general area during the observation period.
The preparing officers noted that witnesses had difficulty expressing themselves clearly about the objects' maneuvers and were uncertain whether they had observed multiple distinct objects or repeated sightings of the same object. The Air Force did not issue a final evaluation for this case, leaving it classified as unknown.
