Summary

On July 18, 1955, in Seattle, Washington, a civilian reported a white object shaped like a star. The witness worked at Boeing and had four other witnesses. The Air Force recorded the report under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The object was white and looked like a star. It flew up and down and side to side. It was still in sight when the first report was made. The sighting lasted about 30 to 35 minutes. Weather was clear.

A later card noted three white objects, each the size of a star, seen over the same period. The Air Force gave two views in its records: possibly a star or planet, and possibly a cluster of balloons reflecting city lights. Officials noted that a nearby naval air station released many balloons that could drift over Seattle.
