Summary

On August 1, 1962, near Los Cruces, New Mexico, a civilian observer reported seeing a UFO. The object was flat and black with a dome in the center and vertical fins around the outside edge. No lights or sound were heard. The object was estimated at 300 to 500 feet altitude, about one-eighth mile off a highway. It moved fast and disappeared while climbing rapidly at a great rate of speed. The Air Force evaluation was listed as Unknown.
