Insufficient Data

Summary

On February 18, 1961, the crew of an aircraft flying from Miami to San Juan, Puerto Rico, reported a very bright object. The report was relayed through the FAA at San Juan. The object was seen for about 28 minutes, from about 10:13 a.m. to 10:41 a.m. local time, while the plane was at 9,000 feet.

The crew said the object was at a much higher altitude. It appeared to be either moving toward the aircraft or standing still, near a bearing of 130 degrees. No color, elevation, or manner of disappearance was given.

The Air Force card notes that the object was watched for almost 30 minutes yet very little detail was provided. Because of this lack of information, the report was evaluated as insufficient data. This card is part of Project 10073, the Air Force's official file for unidentified flying object reports.
