Summary

On May 11, 1958, in Saigon, Vietnam, military observers reported a single object in the night sky. The sighting lasted about 2 seconds. The object was the size of the head of a pin, yellow-orange in color, with a trail of white vapor that quickly dissipated. It fell in a straight path, and the bright light disappeared all at once. The object was seen to the north and moved toward the east. The observers included a U.S. Marine guard and an assistant air attache. The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force concluded the description and short duration were typical of a meteor.
