Summary

On August 29, 1956, a military witness in Pueblo, Colorado, reported a single object. The sighting lasted about two hours and twenty-one minutes.

The witness described one round object about the size of a basketball held at arm's length. To the naked eye it was orange. Through binoculars it appeared reddish on the bottom and green on top. The witness thought it looked like it might be a weather balloon with a light attached. The object faded gradually with the direction of the wind.

The card links this case to a Colorado sighting on August 28, 1956. A related newspaper account described an intensely red round object seen over northern Colorado over several nights, which experts could not fully explain. The card gives the evaluation as astronomical (Mars).
