Summary

On April 25, 1962, observers over the Pacific Ocean near Ocean Station November reported a green object in the sky. The sighting lasted about 5 seconds.

The object was described as a green flare. It was seen from a ship's station and from an aircraft that were widely separated. The aircraft was tracking on a heading of 062 degrees. The light seemed to come from the west and lasted only a few seconds.

This report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports. The Air Force evaluated the object as a possible meteor. A flare was ruled out because of the long distance between the two separate sightings.
