Summary
On November 20, 1962, at about 0620Z (Greenwich time), in the early morning, a civilian in Montevideo, Minnesota, reported an object in the sky. The witness saw it from a bedroom window. The report was filed on the Project 10073 record card, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.
The object was circular and luminous and crossed out of view in just a few seconds. It had no tail or trail. It was at about 30 degrees elevation in the northwest, moving west in level flight, with no sound. The witness said it was brighter than a full moon on a clear night. There was a single object. The witness also wrote a letter, and the Air Force sent a follow up form to gather more detail.
The Air Force concluded the object was a meteor.
