Summary

On July 23, 1954, a civilian in Miami, Florida reported observing a circular object with a flat bottom. The object was initially red with yellowish edges. It made a sound and moved slowly for the first 23 minutes of the sighting. The object then changed color to dark gray and light gray. It appeared elongated as it climbed, then assumed a round shape. The object moved from ground level to about 200 feet altitude while hovering. It traveled north, then south, then north again. The object then climbed toward the northeast and eventually resumed a round shape with scalloped edges, changing slowly to dark gray and then to light gray before fading. The sighting lasted 23 minutes total. The Air Force evaluation was unidentified.
