Summary

On February 20, 1956, a person in Miami, Florida saw a wingless, silver object that resembled a blimp through binoculars. The object appeared very high in the sky. It traveled from northeast to southeast and faded over the horizon in about thirty seconds.

The Air Force investigated but found no radar contact with the object. The radar site that might have detected it was located approximately 250 miles away from Miami, so the absence of a radar signal was not considered surprising. The investigating officers concluded that the sighting was probably caused by a high-flying aircraft near Miami International Airport.
