Summary
On March 29, 1957, a yellow object was sighted near Manitou Springs, Colorado at 1:51 p.m. A civilian witness reported seeing one yellow object the size of a pinhead at arm's length. The object was seen heading slowly south and remained in sight for thirty minutes after the report was made. The object was five degrees above the mountains when first spotted and continued heading south. Scattered clouds and very little wind were present at the time. Investigation revealed that a balloon was released from Grand Junction, Colorado at 9:00 a.m. The Air Force concluded the sighting was caused by a released balloon.
