On November 5, 1962, a civilian reported a bright star-colored elongated object about three feet long with a vapor trail above it near Little Rock, Arkansas. The sighting lasted about 30 minutes. The object was observed at 25 degrees elevation in the southeast and faded as the sun rose. 7. LENGTH OF OBSERVATION: 30 minutes

8. NUMBER OF OBJECTS: one

9. COURSE: [blank]

10. BRIEF SUMMARY OF SIGHTING: Single bright star-colored object, elongated, about 3 feet in length with vapor trail above object. Observed for 30 minutes poor to dawn. Faded with rising of sun. Object at 25 dgr elevation in SE.

11. COMMENTS: Rpt that Operation Firefly in progress at Eglin, this operation accounts for the vapor trails. Star or lst rising in SE. Would be dimmed with rising of sun about 30 minutes later. However, the object was reported at a 25 dgr elevation & this would tend to rule out Astro bodies, since no lst magnitude objects were in the rptd position. Case evaluated as Operation Firefly effects.
