Summary

On August 7, 1957, at 2:20 a.m. EST in Lakehurst, New Jersey, a civilian observer reported two star-like objects. One object was directly behind the other. They moved very fast and very high, heading south. The sighting lasted 10 seconds. The objects had no sound, none visible on radar, and no surface details were observed. The Air Force concluded the sighting was probably meteors. A note indicated meteor activity was approaching maximum on August 7.
