Summary

On July 3, 1963, at night, civilians reported an object near Klamath Falls, Oregon. The witnesses were a husband and wife; the man was an ex-pilot. The case was recorded in Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The object was small and moon-shaped, about 3 inches in apparent size, and looked like a white glow. It appeared low, at about 45 to 60 degrees elevation. It moved over the airfield, then west, and split into two objects before disappearing at about 60 degrees elevation. Winds were from the west. It was watched for about 10 minutes. The control tower at Kingsley Field was called but reported nothing on the sighting.

The Air Force noted the object seemed to move into the wind and that no description of the splitting was given, with key details of its motion missing. The case was listed as insufficient data for evaluation.
