Insufficient Data

Summary

On October 14, 1957, in Fairmont, West Virginia, a civilian witness reported seeing a sphere rotating laterally in flight from southeast toward northwest. The object was observed during daylight hours and revolved with slow and glisten motion in sunlight. It was followed by an identical object. The witness reported two sightings, each lasting an estimated duration. The Air Force concluded the sighting was a probable balloon based on the characteristics of the observation and general eastward winds, though wind information was insufficient for complete evaluation.
