Summary

On April 25, 1952, at 9:15 p.m. near Darmstadt, Germany, an Air Force instructor pilot and his copilot in a C-47 aircraft observed a brilliant white light on a collision course with their plane. The light appeared at about 2,000 feet altitude and was visible for two minutes. The pilots thought it might be a landing light or another aircraft. The light climbed at high speed in a northwest direction and disappeared. Visibility was five to ten miles with scattered clouds. The pilots reported the object reminded them of jet exhaust at night. The Air Force evaluation was listed as unknown.
