Summary

On October 1, 1956, a civilian in Brooklyn, New York reported one round, white object about the size of the head of a pin held at arm's length. The object came from the southwest, hovered for about two minutes, and then disappeared over the northwestern horizon. It moved from southwest to northwest.

The object was watched with the eye for about three to five minutes. The Air Force said the description, duration, and manner of disappearance indicated the sighting was probably caused by an aircraft.
