Summary

On October 7, 1961, civilian witnesses in Albany, New York, reported an unidentified flying object. The report came in a letter that was first sent to the President and then passed to the Air Force. The witnesses said the object made a noise like a flying saucer when it was flying. They then looked up and saw a star or planet with a red light. They said they had many witnesses.
