Insufficient Data

Summary

On March 21, 1961, an object was reported in the Aleutian area near 54 degrees 22 minutes north, 179 degrees west, about 9:04 p.m. GMT. The object was round and reddish, with smaller parts about one quarter the size of the larger ones. One observer saw a single object split into many pieces. The sighting lasted about four minutes.

On Project 10073, the Air Force's official record for unidentified flying object reports, the comments said one witness apparently saw the object before a meteor exploded, while another saw it afterward. The conclusion pointed to a meteor.
