Summary

In September 1961, over the Pacific off the California coast, a single white object was reported. It was about the size and brightness of a first magnitude star. It was first seen at about 195 degrees azimuth heading northeast. It disappeared over the horizon after about 4 minutes of flight. The witness used binoculars. The Air Force found no conflicting data and noted the sighting matched a satellite. The card lists the cause as a satellite.
