Summary

On September 2, 1962, at 2:19 a.m., an object like the first magnitude star was observed at 38 degrees elevation, 230 degrees azimuth, moving from 050 degrees to 230 degrees. Duration and speed were not observed. The sighting lasted only to the eye during daylight observation. The report noted that a satellite would not be visible during the time of the report. ECHO crossed the equator going northeast later at 1:19:33 and would not have been in the area at the time of the sighting. The Air Force listed the case as insufficient data.
