Summary

On April 1, 1959, near Patroon and Norwood in New York, a civilian reported observing a fiery ball traveling south to north on a curved track. The object was very large. The observation lasted about four seconds. The object moved on a ship's course of 270 degrees at a speed of 11.12 knots. A teletype message indicates the report was logged on April 22, 1959, but noted that Discovery Two was still in orbit after April 22. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
