Summary

On April 1, 1958, three circular objects were observed in Wantagh, New York. The objects traveled in a horizontal line at the size of the full moon. They were glowing but not bright and disappeared by fading out. The sighting lasted 4 to 5 seconds. Witnesses described the objects as characteristic of a meteor which had broken up. The objects appeared as a group of lights in formation and traveled in an east-northeast direction. The Air Force evaluated the sighting as an astronomical meteor.
