Summary
On October 19, 1952, a C-50 crew flying over the Pacific Ocean at coordinates 12 degrees 17 minutes north, 155 degrees 35 minutes west sighted an unusual object. The crew observed a circular yellow light with a reddish glow around its outside edge. The object traveled at 300 to 400 knots toward Hawaii and was visible for 20 seconds. The observation was made at 12 knots wind direction, 270 degrees. One object was reported. The crew estimated the object was 122 feet in diameter, traveling between 300 and 400 knots, and observed for an estimated 22 seconds. It moved in a direction toward Hawaii. No sound or trail was detected. The object appeared to have a pulsating pinkish light on its aft end as it moved away from the aircraft.
