Summary
On November 16, 1962, the crew of a merchant vessel at sea, near 11.59N 160.49 longitude, reported a bright object breaking up in the sky. The report was filed under Project 10073, the Air Force's official record system for unidentified flying object reports.
The object was red in color, and the crew saw it break apart. The initial flash was seen at about 20 degrees elevation. The duration was not reported.
