Summary

On April 29, 1957, between about 10:05 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. local time, two civilian college students in Worcester, Massachusetts reported three separate sightings. They were watching the sky for comets at the time.

The first sighting was a single rust red object about the size of a half dollar held at arm's length. It passed overhead from south to north and was seen for about seven seconds. The second sighting was seven smaller silver red objects in a straight line, lasting about two minutes. The third, about twenty minutes later, was twelve objects in a V formation, seen for about four seconds and appearing higher than the others.

The Air Force record (Project 10073, its official file for unidentified flying object reports) concluded these were jet aircraft at high altitude and meteor sightings.
