Summary

On November 1, 1956, a civilian saw one object over Ventura, California. The object was watched for about three minutes.

The witness described a missile shaped object with a long body, red wings, and a silver body. It had a pointed nose. The object made a very short, tight turn. Radar operators reported no aircraft in the area at the time, and no fighters were sent up. One radar director said he believed it was not an aircraft.

Because the first report had little detail, the Air Force sent a follow up form to the witness on November 5, 1956. The case was listed as insufficient data while results were awaited. Project 10073 was the Air Force's official record system for reports of unidentified flying objects.
