Project Blue Book Case File
Vejle, Jutland, Denmark, December 1958December 1958
Summary
On December 1, 1958, a very bright light was observed moving south to east in the sky over Vejle, Jutland, Denmark. One civilian witness reported the sighting, which lasted nine minutes. The object moved at an altitude of three to five degrees and was visible at night. An astronomer in Copenhagen observed the same object and reported it independently. The Air Force investigation concluded the sighting was likely a psychological response to the space track observation effort, as the observation occurred within three minutes of the expected crossing of Delta One. The office was unable to evaluate the sighting conclusively due to insufficient data.
