Insufficient Data

Summary

In late February 1962, a civilian ground observer near Incirlik, Turkey, reported one object that looked similar to the Echo I satellite. The object was about one third to one fourth the brightness of a star and was watched for about 20 minutes. It first appeared on a bearing of about 350 degrees and disappeared on a heading of about 080 degrees. The object made shallow turns in both directions and appeared to have unsteady, blinking lights. No elevation or altitude was given. The Air Force noted the long duration and maneuvering and considered aircraft or a high-flying balloon with lights, but said speed could not be estimated. The record card listed the case as insufficient data.
