Summary
On July 1, 1953, at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, an unidentified object was sighted. The object looked like a star about the size of a star with no trail or exhaust and no apparent method of propulsion. It made no sound. The object moved one fourth of the way across the horizon from south to west, north of the moon. The sighting lasted five minutes and was visible from the surface. The object was at 53 degrees 25 minutes latitude and 97 degrees 20 minutes longitude, north side of Tinker Air Force Base and midwest city Oklahoma. Captain Edgar W Anderson Jr. of Midwest City reported the sighting at 23:30 hours (11:30 p.m.). The object was observed at 23:30 hours at 230 degrees, moving 22 knots at 50 degrees elevation. A balloon was released at 23:30 hours. Headman at Sram Adly was notified but unable to locate the object. The Air Force evaluation was unknown.
