Summary

On July 21, 1955, in Syracuse, New York, two civilian ground observers reported two round objects. The witnesses were students. The Air Force recorded the report under Project 10073, its official record for unidentified flying object reports.

The objects were red and green and seemed to change colors. The witnesses said they looked larger than aircraft navigation lights. The objects moved from west to east and faded into a fog bank. The sighting lasted about 35 to 40 seconds.

The local ground observer post plotted two aircraft in the same area at the same time. The Air Force concluded the witnesses most likely saw those aircraft. The case was evaluated as aircraft.
