Summary

On April 29, 1953, at about 1125 (11:25 a.m.) Eastern time, civilians reported an object over Syracuse, New York. The witnesses were several women, including two named in the report. The sighting reached the 655th Aircraft Control and Warning Squadron.

The object was a round silver disc that left a puff of exhaust. It was estimated at 13,000 to 15,000 feet altitude and was directly overhead. It did not appear to move in any direction. The sighting lasted about five minutes.

The weather was good with unlimited visibility. There was no physical evidence. The Air Force noted that the disappearance was not recorded and that it sounded like a balloon. The Air Force concluded the case was insufficient data for evaluation.
