Summary

On November 1, 1962, in Sudan, East Africa, a civilian witness observed an object resembling a small cloud rising in the west and moving east. The sighting lasted 20 minutes. The object appeared as a round mass with smoky silver or colorless coloring that changed shape slightly. It moved north and disappeared from view. The night was clear with moonlight. The Air Force concluded the object was probably a noctilucent cloud, with disappearance attributed to loss of reflection from the sun's rays.
